八、備註Remarks:
DISCUSSIONS/OFFICE HOURS:
If you have trouble within class, something you do not understand, or there is something the teacher should know, please do not hesitate to speak with him/her. Instructors are here to help you. Teachers want you to succeed; we do not want you to fail this course.

ATTENDANCE:
You will be expected to be present for all sessions. A test may be given in any class. There will be no make-ups of quizzes, test or exams. Additionally, late homework is not accepted. Homework is due at the beginning of class (or occasionally, the day before class). No Exceptions. Late homework and missed tests will be given a score of zero. Attendance is important because communication is both a sending and receiving process. You have the responsibility of not only presenting materials but also of listening and responding to the information of other class members. The specific attendance policy, is—
1 or 2 class hours missed = no penalty
3 class hours missed = final grade reduced by 10 points
4 class hours missed = final grade reduced by 15 points
5 class hours missed = final grade reduced by 20 points
6+ hours or 1/3 of course time missed = automatic failure of the course

Notes:
 The instructor arrives on time for class. You are expected to be on time as well. Arriving more than 15 minutes late will be counted as an absence. Classes are only 50 minutes. Students will NOT be able to take a quiz or test that day if more than 15 minutes late. Late arrivals and early departures will be counted as partial absences.
Students who are not late and are present for ALL classes during the semester and complete ALL assignments will be rewarded quantitatively for the final course grade at the discretion of the instructor.

 Students are NOT allowed to randomly attend other/alternate classes due to oversleeping, taking a missed quiz, or anything else. Students MUST attend the class and time in which they are enrolled. No Exceptions.

 Students are expected to successfully complete English 1 before taking English 2, and successfully complete English 2 before taking English 3. Dropping this required class and waiting for one semester or one year will decrease your chances of completing the English program in a timely manner.

 Students are expected to do their own work in order to help their own English ability. ANY form of plagiarism, cheating, copying is strictly prohibited in all courses and in this university. Students are responsible for knowing what plagiarism/cheating is and how it may damage their educational path. Please refer to the university policy or student handbook on this matter.

 The instructor reserves the right to modify the schedule or assignments as dictated by time constraints, class size or unforeseen events. Students are responsible for being aware of any adjustments, changes or otherwise, especially when students miss a class.
